Bonnie Richards was born and raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Susquehanna University with a degree in Music Education. She became a church organist and choir director at the age of 15 and served parishes in Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia before moving to North Carolina in 1992. At St. Mark’s, she served as Director of Music from 1995 until 2006, and has been Parish Administrator since 2001.

Bonnie lives in Weaverville with her husband, Norm, and 2 rescued Greyhounds. They have 2 adult children, a daughter in Asheville and son in Pittsburgh, PA. She enjoys singing with the Asheville Symphony Chorus, reading, needle crafts, and rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers.

Parish Cantor: Frankie Ann Weinberger

Frankie Ann Weinberger grew up in a very musical family and began piano and violin lessons at age 10. By age 15 she began accompanying congregational hymns, choirs and soloists in church and school. Her music studies continued through college, and she has bachelor degrees in theology and biomedical sciences, along with a master’s in physician assistant studies from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has worked part-time as a church musician as pianist, organist and director for praise bands, adult and children’s choirs for since high school, and also continues to work as a physician assistant. She and her husband Eric and canine children Rosy and Wulfila love the beauty, creativity and diversity in Asheville.
