Worship Ministries

Worship & Music Ministry Team
This committee works closely with the pastoral staff to give suggestions and feedback pertaining to the worship and music in the church.
Altar Guild
This team is responsible for the care and keeping of the altar, the elements of communion and cleaning up after services.
Assisting Ministers and Lay Readers
If your gift public speaking and reading, or passing the blessing of communion you may feel called to lead worship as an Assisting Minister. Training is provided.
Ushers
Often the first faces to greet people at the Sanctuary doors, these members distribute the worship bulletins, guide people to seats and through Communion, and generally make sure the sanctuary is ready for worship.
Communion Assistant
These assistants distribute the wine during Communion.
Acolytes, Crucifers and Torch Bearers
These assistants help with various functions of the worship service. Whether carrying the cross or the Bible for the processional, lighting the candles, or assisting with communion, no matter your age you can be an actively participate in worship service.
Healing Ministry
These specially scheduled services are held at noon on the 2nd Wednesdays of the months of February, May, August and November. The focus is on the healing of body, mind and spirit of all whose needs are know or private.
Flower deliverers
The altar flowers from the Sunday services are given to the sick and or homebound. These volunteers make the deliveries on Sundays or Mondays.
Banner Makers
If design and creativity are your talents, the banner makers need you. The banners enhance the sanctuary with beautiful illustrations of the liturgical year and festivals.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir helps lead the worship in song and praise. You don’t need a professionally trained voice or be able to read music to participate. Rehearsals are held on Sundays between worship services in the choir room.
Handbell Choir
Ring the Bells! Ringers work as a team for special performances. Ringers must be able to read music. Rehearsals are from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.
Instrumentalists
Occasionally instrumentalists are needed to enhance the worship services. Please sahre your talent with the people of St. Mark’s. Let the office staff know what instrument you play.
