Learning Ministries
Christian Education and Faith Formation
The Sunday school classes at St. Mark’s meet from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. – between our Sunday worship services. Whether you’re 4 or 94 years old, we have a Sunday School class for you!
For our children’s Sunday School, we use a variety of curricula, through which the kids learn about Jesus and the Bible in new and exciting ways. Our Confirmation class (for 6th through 8th graders) has a three-year rotation schedule between Old Testament, New Testament, and Christian Witness. Eighth graders have a special class that meets once a month in which they study Luther’s Small Catechism. Our High School class meets at the same time in the teen room. They discuss Christian Witness issues relevant to their lives, centering on the aspects that relate to faith and the church.
We also have several adult classes that meet Sunday morning. Currently, “Making Sense of Scripture” is meeting in the Fellowship Hall with Pastor Webb (April 14 – May 26).
In the summer, we offer Vacation Bible School for nursery through grade 2. Scheduled for Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, 2013, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m, this year’s VBS theme is “Go Tell It on the Mountain”. Registration information will be announced later this spring.
Book Study
Readers gather in the library on Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. for a book study.
